Latinos In Science Summer Camp 2010

The crowning achievement of Latinos In Science is and will be for many years to come our annual Summer Camp Program. The summer camp was created and began in 2006 thanks to Jaime Matute, a golden member of LIS and future 2007 president. It was first named "Latinos In Science Leadership Camp" but was renamed in consequent years to " Latinos In Science Summer Camp". The camps main purpose is to allow Inland Empire, Orange County, Los Angeles County and any other students around the area the opportunity to see and experience life as a student at the University of California, Riverside. For three days and two nights the selected students will experience the college life. They will sleep on campus in one of the three resident halls, eat at the dining halls, enjoy informative presentations and even participate in interesting classes and labratories presented by actual UCR professors! And if that wasnt enough, did we mention the price? Our students enjoy all of these amenities for no more than zero dollars!! Thats right the camp has been and will continue to be free of charge for the students that have been selected to attend. Along with providing tons of information for students regarding college acceptance, financial aid and much much more, the parents of the students are also invited to attend workshops specially designed to help them support their children in obtaining a higher education. The camp offers students a unique experience that is hard to come by especially during hard economic times. For more information regarding our LIS Summer Camp please feel free to request more information below. Remember to keep checking back to find out of any updates for the 2010 LIS Summer Camp that will be held this coming summer.
